New
Cessna style engine cluster
02/01/2009
The GSA-CEC
is a Cessna type engine cluster based on the
C172. The four gauges, each of them with 2 pointers,
are on 1 circuit board. The gauges are positioned
2 X 2 in the same way the real gauges are on
a real panel.
There are two version available. (Standard
for GSA55 and USB without interface)
The gauges have following values indicated:
• Fuel quantity Left / Right
• EGT / CHR
• Oil temperature / Oil pressure
• Suction gauge / AMP meter

New
digital clock now for sale
29/12/ 20 08
The new GSA71 brings us one step closer to the
completion of a full Cessna panel. Together
with the analogue altimeter and the Cessna engine
cluster (8 gauges on 1 print), the digital clock
constitutes the final modules for a complete
GA panel setup.
The GSA71 is modelled aftre the Davtron Digital
clock and has the same functionalities.
The text on the bezel as well as the LCD screen
are backlit.

Analogue
altimeter completes GA range
13/12/ 20 08
Flight illusion is proud to announce the development
of the analogue attitude indicator. The new
gauge fits in our strategy to offer the full
GA cockpit suite, much in the same way as we
did with our gauges for airliners. With the
navigational gauges launched in September, the
analogue altimeter completes the standard offer
for cockpit builders who are building general
aviation panels. The gauge will have a strong
stepper motor (like in the attitude indicator)
and a gearing system to move each handle and
a pot meter linked to a geared plate for setting
the barometric pressure. The gauge will link
in the same way to the interface and the software
will allow for settings like lighting or master/slave
position when having 2 altimeters in one setup.
We expect first prototyping by the end of this
year with production in Q1 2009.
F.I.
releases X-Plane driver in Beta
22/10 /20 08
Waiting days are almost over for all cockpit
builders who use X-Plane.Flight illusion is
releasing today the X-plane version of our interface,
allowing for all the FI gauges to be connected
and tweaked.
There is even better news for X-plane pilots.
Compared to MS-FS the adventage is that no extra
"in between" like FSUIPC is needed.
Hence it is possible to update the information
at almost 50 times per second (DS has a 10/second
update rate). This results in even smoother
gauge movement.
The Beta version will has X-Plane9 and 9 compatibility.
We are now making sure to get as many indexes
in as possible (equal to offsets in Flight Simulator)
We are currently looking for some Beta users
who already have our gauges and are willing
to test their setup with X-plane. (drop us a
mail at info@flightillusion.com) But we also
invite X-plane users to download the interface
and take a look at how it's functioning.
Meanwhile, Austin Meyer, the creator of X-plane
is continuing to work on an embedded interface
that connects from within X-plane. We'll inform
you about his

F.I.
releases latest software version
19/10 /20 08
Customers can now download version (6.0.2) of
the software allowing to drive the gauges with
information from Flight Simulator.
This version offesr new functionalities.
• NAV gauges can be used (VOR1, VOR2 and
ADF gauges)
• Better functionalities of the I/O module,
allowing multiple light gear indication
• Option for faster needle movement on
altimeters when used in aerobatic or combat
flights (F16/Extra)
• Many small changes that improve performance
If you are upgrading from
5.3.1 to 6.0.2; it is mandatory to install the
new configuration file as well. This means that
all existing gauges and I/O module functions
will have to be re-assigned, but the overall
performance will be much better.
New
pictures added in builders gallery
12/09 /20 08
We
received some new pictures over the last months,
showing top notch quality projects using our
gauges. We have now included them in our builders
gallery. At the same time, we've split up the
pages in a Jet airliner page and a page with
other types of aircraft, like G.A. planes, Turboprop
and jet please.

Flight
illusion teams up with Mycockpit.org
05/09 /20 08
In
order to better serve the cockpit builders community,
Flight illusion has decided to team up Mycockpit.org.
With thousends of enthusiastic cockpitbuilders,
the site is a perfect platform to inform visitors
about new releases and upcomming products.
Further more, Mycockpit.org hosts a dedicated

We
are proud to present the new range of navigational
instruments for use with flight simulator. We
now close the gap and release the last instruments
in the general aviation segment. The range includes

New
F16 gauges now available
16 /0 7 /2008
Following
a massive number of mails asking if FI was ever
to introduce the F16 gauges, we have finally
finished the development of the combine IAS/mach
meter. This gauge was first showed during the
Lelystad FS show in 2006, but never passed the
stage of prototype. However, since last early
this year, we have received a lot of request
asking us to put the F16 gauge set on sale.
Although at this stage, it will only work with
Flight Simulator F16 aircraft, we hope that
the Falcon community will soon start developing
the interfacing software. Our own software team
will be happy to assist by releasing the source
protocol code.
Alongside with the attitude
indicator and the digital altimeter, the combine
IAS/mach meter is the ideal base to start living
the dream of becoming a jet fight pilot. Other
engine gauge are soon to be released as well.
For more info, check out the
product
page here or watch a small movie
showing the tremendous reaction time of
our 360° rolling attitude indicator.
Turn
& bank coordinator added to range
13/04/2008
Flight
Illusion is proud to present it’s latest
addition to the range of analogue panel gauges.
The turn and bank co-ordinator was the missing
piece in the basic 6 setup. With this new gauge,
all kinds of setups, from general aviation to
military aircraft can now be made. The gauge
is based on a dual stepper motor configuration,
allowing one axes to drive the ball and the
other to turn the small airplane.

I/O
module manual now available
08/04/2008
The
I/O module allows cockpitbuilders to connect
up to 48 switches, 36 LEDs and 8 analogue inputs
on the same board. There is now an extensive
mnual available in English and Dutch for those
who want to find out how easily this interface
is configurable.

Vintage
attitude indicator added to range
03/04/2008
We
have added this new gauge, based on the existing
attitude indicator. However, the picht bar and
bank ring are now full black & white, giving
the gauge an “old warbirds” look.
The gauge has been developed for a Messersmidt
simulator project, but can easily be used in
all kinds of panels as found in vintage aircraft.
This gauge can be hooked in a daisy chain configuration
to other instruments or directly to the central
interface. The 80 mm diameter gauges are lit
by 2 LED’s.

The
importance of an interface
11/04/2007
With
the competition launching the "universal
gauge with USB Direct link", some customers
might have the impression that an interface
becomes obsolete. The truth lies far from that.
The advantages of the flight illusion gauges
versus the Simkits gauges are explained once
again here .
